Child Sexual Abuse
Child sexual abuse is contact of any kind between an adult and a child where the child is being used for sexual stimulation of the adult or another person. There are many types of child sexual abuse, which can take place in the form of verbal, emotional, and/or physical.
Types of Sexual abuse can include:
Exposing a child to graphic sexual material or activity such as adult sexual activity or printed pornography.
Touching or fondling or having a child touch or fondle
"Peeping Tom" activity, such as watching an unaware child in his/her bathroom or bedroom
Attempting to or engaging in sexual intercourse and/or oral sex
Having a child perform in a sexual manner, i.e., posing, stripping, and/or undressing
Fact: Sexual abuse of a child may be so subtle that the child doesn't know it's happening.
Fact: Over 90% of all children sexually assaulted know their abuser/attacker.
Fact: Trust is likely the best and most powerful weapon an offender will use to gain access to a child.
